Tips for the Job Interview

PREPARING FOR THE INTERVIEW
The object of the interview is a job offer. Until you are offered a position you cannot decide weather or not to accecpt it.

BE INFORMED
Find out as much as you can about a potential employer from online information or any other source that might be available to you.

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT
Spend some time before your interview reviewing possible questions that the interviewer might ask. You will be more confident of your answers.

REST UP
Be well rested and comfortable before you go to an interview. A good breakfast or lunch will help. Don’t have any alcoholic beverages before your interview.

DRESS FOR SUCCESS
For men, a dark suit, white or light colored shirt that has been starched and ironed, dark tie, dark socks, and dark shoes. Be sure that your hair is neatly cut and groomed, shoes are shined, finger nails are clean and trimmed.

For women, a business suit or dark skirt, light blouse and dark jacket, medium heels. Be careful not to wear too much make-up or too heavy of a fragrance.

For EVERYONE, remember, be conservative, you only have one chance to make a good first impression!!

BE EARLY
Fifteen minutes is good. Be sure to get good directions or to take a drive the night before to where your interview will take place.

BRING A RESUME
Take several resumes’ with you. Carry those resumes’ along with your typed questions that you want to ask the company in a business notebook folder. Don’t carry a briefcase. Give a copy of your resume to each person you interview with as you meet them.
